Frequently Asked Questions
Can I drive for QikTruck without a PDP?
No. South African law requires a PDP for anyone transporting goods for reward. All QikTruck partner drivers must have a valid PDP. We verify this during registration.
What if my vehicle is financed - can I still register?
Yes. You can register a financed vehicle as long as you have the registration papers, valid insurance, and roadworthy certificate. Some finance agreements may restrict commercial use - check with your bank first.
Do I need Code 10 or Code 14 for QikTruck?
For bakkies and vehicles under 3,500 kg, a Code 8 licence is sufficient. For 4-ton trucks you need Code 10. For 8-ton and larger trucks, Code 14 is required. All need a valid PDP.
How long does QikTruck verification take?
Document verification typically takes 24-48 hours on business days. During peak periods it may take up to 3 business days. You'll receive an SMS and email when approved.
